Shilpa Gupta is a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. She is the Partner of Areete Consultants LLP having more than 20 years of post qualification experience in advising clients on various tax and regulatory matters. Before Areete, she worked with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) for over 9 years, in tax and regulatory practice. She also worked with Grant Thornton.

She has handled tax matters for various large MNC groups from different industries like Telecom, Infrastructure, Real Estate, Engineering, Oil & Gas. She has helped several companies from USA, Europe, middle east to set up their operations in India and provide complete advisory and handholding for their operations in India.

She has lead audit assignments-both statutory and tax audits for MNCs and large corporates in various industries and is an SME for corporate governance. She has more than two decades of experience from various consulting assignments involving research and opining on complex tax and regulatory matters, structuring, risks analysis and mitigation including PE analysis, compliances check, special assignments –tax surveys and litigation.

She regularly contributes to leading newspapers her views on the current developments on tax and regulatory issues.
